Schwarzwald Gallery of Fame: the very charming Miss "Missy" McDonough
Her signature song was "If You're Irish Come into the Parlour", but she was just as likely to belt out a tear-jerking rendition of "Lili Marlene" or a stirring "Das Lied Der Deutschen" for the many proud German-American patrons of the Schwarzwald.
Convicted in 1970 for sponsoring an illegal after-hours fund-raiser for the Provisional wing of the Irish Republican Army, Missy did her eighteen months in federal prison without opening her lovely lips once, and on her return proudly returned to the regular Schwarzwald roster of performers.
