It had a pool table, and pictures of Frank, and no atmosphere at all. Which made it rather attractive, at the time.Der Salzgitter Grillnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380232356803921253.post-37175965456755885432010-09-13T10:36:36.148-04:002010-09-13T10:36:36.148-04:00A room full of late, great US writers, excepting (...A room full of late, great US writers, excepting (maybe, maybe not) Josh, Pat, Carlotta, and the fly would certainly be unnerving.
And macaroni and cheese? More like a literary Hades. I hate to think what the live act will be.. (Syd Barrett, Steve Marriott, Brian Jones, et al?)
Re Jason's comment, perhaps the scholarly work is best left for future generations. For this living reader, part of the joy of reading Arnold Schnabel has been trying to decipher the enigma that is "Dan Leo".Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16378662301271706094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380232356803921253.post-52057960006946232462010-09-11T16:12:34.321-04:002010-09-11T16:12:34.321-04:00Heh heh, you may consider the job open and availab...Heh heh, you may consider the job open and available, Jason. This could be just the thing for some eager young Ph.D candidate looking for something new and original for a doctoral thesis. After all, Shakespeare and Joyce have really been picked apart, whereas the scholarly work on Arnold Schnabel remains oddly sparse. I would find such a primer quite useful myself, as even I have trouble remembering half the stuff that's appeared in these pages.Dan Leohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01603402268945559679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380232356803921253.post-66937999665775102682010-09-11T12:22:42.230-04:002010-09-11T12:22:42.230-04:00dan, i feel the need for a primer, so to speak, a ...dan, i feel the need for a primer, so to speak, a "gateway to geekery" in the mode of the onion a/v club, that gives an informed outsider's view of the many works and overall aesthetic contained within the whole "dan leo" thing, perhaps penned by ms. rhoda or ms. kathleen or another dyed-in-the-wool leo fan - not only do i believe it would be personally edifying for them to do so but it would provide a useful window for anyone coming to yr work relatively uninformed...

...unless, of course, having the reader do that work is part of the "dan leo" thing. please advise.Jason Gusmannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12797943123500708850noreply@blogger.com
